Many issues in life are overwhelming; getting diagnosed with cancer is one of those. I’ve been very very fortunate. Many of my friends and colleagues that are part of this “brotherhood” aren’t as fortunate. Prostate cancer is terribly underfunded (and misunderstood) compared to other Cancers because men don’t talk about it. They don’t engage because of the personal nature of the problem.
ZERO is the leading national nonprofit with the mission to end prostate cancer. ZERO advances research, improves the lives of men and families, and inspires action. ZERO is a 501c3 charity, a Better Business Bureau member, and 89.8 cents of every dollar donated goes to research and programs.
CHARITY NAVIGATOR, the watchdog standard for non-profits, recently posted its new review, ranking ZERO a four-star organization. Out of the 18,000-plus disease-based organizations in the U.S, ZERO is one of only 48 nonprofits with an operating budget of over $3.5M while garnering a four-star rating from Charity Navigator By earning exceptional scores on financial responsibility, ethics, transparency, and accountability, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity. For the fifth consecutive year, ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer has been named one of The Nonprofit Times’ “Top 50 Best Nonprofits to Work For.” ZERO jumped four spots in 2018, from number ten to number six and is also ranked number two among small nonprofits on the list.
